Arlington Fire Relief Fund

On January 22, an early morning fire affected Chestnut Manor, a housing complex for seniors and people with disabilities run by the Arlington Housing Authority. The Arlington Department of Health and Human Services, through the Council on Aging has established a donation fund to support the residents that have been impacted. COVID-19 Updates

Throughout the course of the COVID-19 pandemic, the team at Minuteman Senior Services has continued to operate our programs and services, as well as support residents in navigating the public health crisis. We remain committed to doing our part to promote the health, safety, and access to services for those in need.

  • Please contact us if you need information on available vaccination or testing sites, assistance acquiring at-home tests, or other COVID-related questions.

  • Insurance carriers, as well as MassHealth, are now providing coverage of at-home tests for members. For more information

  • The most recent surge in COVID-19 cases is having continued impact on the availability of home care workers, such as home care aides and homemakers. As an alternative, the Consumer-Directed Care program allows consumers to hire someone of their own choosing. Please ask your Care Manager if you are eligible.

  • We have implemented a COVID-19 immunization policy for staff and volunteers at Minuteman Senior Services. This is an extension of our ongoing efforts, such as use of personal protective equipment, social distance, and cleaning practices, to promote the health and safety of consumers and families, volunteers, and employees.

  • Please note that, per the town of Bedford, masks are required when visiting our office. We do have masks available for visitors as needed.

Lahey Hospital & Medical Center is conducting a Community Health Needs Assessment to better understand the most pressing health-related issues impacting the people living and working in the communities they serve. Hear key themes from their assessment, share your perspective, and discuss potential solutions. All attendees are entered to win a $100 Visa Gift Card!

Spring Forward Save the Date

Our 2nd Annual Spring Forward Fun Run/Walk will be held May 1-8. Participants will complete a 5K or 10K walk or run along a route of their choosing. This event will benefit all the valuable programs that Minuteman provides and is aligned with our mission of enhancing health and well-being, as all who participate will benefit as well. Thank You!

Much appreciation to all who supported our 12th Annual Holiday Online Auction. We had bids totaling over $11,000 and much sponsor support, raising $17,370.00, funding that will allow us to serve those most in need during these challenging times.

New this year was a partnership with Kendra Scott, and we are grateful for those who participated. We received a check for $233.00, which represents 20% of each purchase made during the designated weekend.
