Not All Heroes Wear Capes

Not all Heroes Wear CapesMeals on Wheels volunteers masking up and delivering food to homebound seniors five days a week, even during the peak of the pandemic. Money Management volunteers meeting with people on their porches to collect the documentation needed to qualify for Fuel Assistance. SHINE volunteers responding to over 1000 requests from folks needing support in selecting a Medicare plan, and saving thousands of dollars for people in the process. Ombudsman program volunteers advocating for nursing home residents through weekly phone calls and outdoor visits, and providing support to families regarding communication and visitation. While the pandemic changed just about every aspect of how we deliver services, Minuteman volunteers continued to make a significant contribution to people in our 16 communities, and for this we are truly grateful. Thank you Minuteman volunteers!

Free COVID-19 Vaccines

New Volunteer Opportunity

Do you have an hour or two a week (or every other week) to help a senior in your community? Regular social contact is proven to improve health and wellbeing. We are looking for friendly visitors and essential shoppers to join our new Social Connections Program. In an effort to reduce social isolation, volunteers will provide company over the phone or in-person, and help with essential shopping for a homebound senior. We provide support and training and you create a meaningful connection with a senior friend. For more information, please contact Volunteer Coordinator Yuen Li, at 781-221-7093 or y.li@minutemansenior.org
