Volunteer Opportunities at
Minuteman Senior Services

View Slideshow from our 2013 Volunteer Celebration

As a volunteer for Minuteman Senior Services, you will experience the special satisfaction of knowing you are helping people live with independence and dignity. Minuteman volunteers are men and women of all ages, parents and children, students, newcomers, retirees and professionals who give their time to make a meaningful connection to seniors in their community. They deliver or serve lunchtime meals, lead Healthy Living programs, help balance checkbooks, provide advice on health benefits, visit with and advocate for residents of long term care facilities, and apply their organization skills and talents at our main office.
Quilts for Seniors
Case Managers gather with Executive Director Joan Butler (second from right) to display these vibrant and cozy quilts, donated by the Burlington quilters, before delivering them to Minuteman seniors.

Can you spare a few lunch-time hours, two times a month or more? If so, you can deliver nutritious lunches to local homebound elders in Acton, Arlington, Bedford, Burlington, Concord, Carlisle, Lexington, Maynard, or Woburn. The need is great! Volunteers can work independently or as a team.

Help out at your local hot lunch program where elders gather to get a low-cost nutritious meal; volunteers are needed to help set-up, serve and clean up. This is an opportunity to meet a lot of nice people.

These classes and support groups are designed to improve self-care by seniors with chronic disease or to improve balance, diet and exercise.
