Caring ConversationsTMThe Sandwich Generation: Squeezed Between the Kids and the Grandparents
Studies show that, on average, we spend 17 years raising our children and 18 years caring for our elderly parents. For many of us this occurs simultaneously and we are "sandwiched" between the generations trying to meet the often-competing needs of the young and old. This Caring Conversation looks at the emotional aspects of this situation - the problems and dilemmas that arise as well as the joys and opportunities. Survival tips and coping strategies are offered as well as materials and resources to support caregivers.
