And eating more vegetables and fruits is a Step to Healthier Aging! Many older adults do not eat enough fruits and vegetables. Five or more sounds like a lot, but check out these serving sizes:

Almost anyone, at any age, can improve his or her health by increasing physical activity. Regular exercise can prevent or delay
some diseases, like cancer, heart disease or diabetes. It can perk up your mood and help depression, too.
![]() Find things that you enjoy and work towards a goal of 30 minutes each day.
Go for a walk. Dance. Climb stairs Take care of your garden. Start slowly. Ten minutes of activity at a time, three times a day, is fine. Doing too much, too soon, can hurt you, especially if you have not been active for a while. And always check with your doctor first, before beginning any new activity. © June 2005
